Dear Members and Sister Club Members,
St. Louis Imperial Dance Club was established in 1973, and for many, many years was the largest and most popular Imperial Club in St. Louis. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and sometimes The Universe decides to help a difficult decision along with a series of fortuitous events.
Our club has been struggling with membership and attendance at our monthly dances for quite some time, and with the impact of COVID19 this year, it’s confirmed the Board’s decision to discontinue our monthly dances going forward. However, in order to honor the history of our dance in St. Louis, and to keep our club connected with the most amazing dance community in the country, we intend to continue hosting two large dances annually. Our St. Patrick’s Day Dance in March, and our Halloween/Anniversary Dance in October. These of course are contingent upon the community’s support by participation, and our ability to find a new venue to host them.
St. Louis Imperial Dance Club will continue to maintain our non-profit status, and remain members of the Midwest Swing Dance Federation as long as feasibly possible. We will of course continue to support our sister clubs!
